Born and raised in Clinton, Nancy has spent her entire life living and working in Prince George’s County, Maryland. A graduate of Surrattsville High School, Mrs. Miller attended the University of Maryland, where she received her undergraduate degree in Business and Public Administration. After graduating from college, Mrs. Miller went to the University of Baltimore Law School, where she attended classes in the evening while working full-time. Following graduation from law school, Nancy returned to her hometown and founded the Law Office of Nancy L. Miller in 1978. In 2009, Mark Miller joined the firm, now known as Nancy L. Miller and Mark C. Miller, Attorneys at Law.
In addition to her private practice, Mrs. Miller was appointed as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Maryland, handling complex civil litigation and accident cases for the Maryland State Highway Administration. Due to her strong work ethic, Nancy was able to simultaneously manage her own private law firm and serve as Assistant Attorney General for over twenty-five (25) years. At the time she retired from the Attorney General’s Office, she was one of the only lawyers in the state to serve as a full-time Assistant Attorney General while also maintaining a private law firm.
Nancy also cares deeply about her community. As a proud Surrattsville High School alum, Nancy created a scholarship fund in the name of her late mother and father which scholarships she has given out each year to graduating Surrattsville seniors. Nancy has also actively worked as a champion for women’s rights and has been dedicated to addressing the needs of women in the legal profession.
